gliard / documentation

crypto payments,
inside your discord.

A practical guide to setting up Gliard, paying members, and choosing the networks your server supports.

quick startadd Gliard to your server, link a public wallet with /wallet add, then use /request or /pay. You can also right-click a member and choose Pay or Request from Gliard's Apps menu.
01 / overview

what is gliard?

Gliard lets Discord members pay and request supported crypto directly between their wallets. The bot creates a payment link; the payer reviews the details and signs in their own wallet.

Gliard is non-custodial: it does not hold funds or ask for private keys or recovery phrases. Transactions are checked on-chain before a payment is marked complete.

02 / setup

getting started

  1. 01
    add gliard

invite Gliard to your Discord server and grant the requested permissions.

  2. 02
    link a public wallet address

Run /wallet add and provide your public Solana address or EVM address. You can link both. Gliard stores addresses, never wallet keys.

  3. 03
    pay or request

Use /pay to pay a member or /request to ask them for a payment. You can also use Pay or Request from the Apps menu when you right-click a member. The other member needs a linked address on the selected network.

  4. 04
    review and sign

Open the private payment link, check the token, amount, network, and recipient in your wallet, then approve the transaction there.

03 / payments

pay and request

/paypay a discord member

Choose a user, amount, and token. Example:

/pay user:@alex amount:25 token:USDC
/requestask a discord member to pay you

Choose a user, amount, and token. Example:

/request user:@alex amount:0.5 token:SOL

Some tokens only exist on one network, so Gliard selects that network automatically. If a token such as USDC is available on several enabled networks, you can choose the network during the command flow. The recipient must have a wallet linked for that network.

Payment links stay bound to the network and token they were created for. If a server later disables that network, an existing request still uses its original network.

04 / server controls

choose your server’s networks

Any server member can privately check network states with /chain list. Server administrators can change which networks members can use for new payments and swaps.

/chain listsee every network and its state

The list includes both enabled and disabled networks, so you can see what is available and what can be turned back on.

/chain configurechange several networks together

Open the multi-select menu, select every network you want enabled, then submit. Selected networks stay enabled; unselected networks are disabled. At least one network must remain enabled.

/chain add or /chain removechange one network

Use add to enable a network or remove to disable it. These are handy for a single change; use configure when changing several.

/chain add, /chain remove, and /chain configure require Discord Administrator permission. Network settings apply only to that server. Disabling a network hides its payment choices and community tokens there; it does not unregister tokens or change the network on existing requests.

05 / tokens

community tokens

Anyone in the server can view registered community tokens. Server administrators can register up to five custom SPL tokens on Solana or ERC-20 tokens on supported EVM networks. Gliard looks up token metadata and makes registered tokens available in payment choices.

  • /customtoken add — register a token by its mint or contract address.
  • /customtoken list — view the tokens registered in this server.
  • /customtoken remove — unregister a token.

A token remains registered if its network is disabled, but members cannot use it for new payments until that network is enabled again. A ticker alone does not identify an asset; check its network and contract or mint address.

06 / wallets

wallets and balances

/wallet add links a public wallet address to your Discord account. Use /wallet view to see linked addresses and available balances, and /wallet remove network:sol or network:evm to unlink a network.

Gliard supports compatible Solana wallets and EVM wallets such as Phantom, Solflare, MetaMask, and Rabby. Wallet availability depends on your browser or mobile wallet.

07 / swaps

token swaps

/swap gets a decentralized exchange quote for supported EVM networks. Review the source token, destination token, network, and quoted amount before signing in your wallet.

Server network settings also filter which networks can be used for new swaps. Solana swaps are not currently supported by Gliard’s swap flow.

08 / safety

fees and transaction safety

Payments include a 0.5% Gliard fee, plus any network transaction costs. Your wallet shows the transaction details and asks you to approve it before it is sent.

  • Gliard will never ask for your seed phrase or private key.
  • Check the recipient, token, amount, and network in your wallet before signing.
  • Confirm a community token’s mint or contract address with a trusted server admin.
  • Do not assume two tokens with the same ticker are the same asset.
09 / help

common questions

i can’t select a network or token

The server may have disabled that network. Run /chain list to check. A server manager can enable it with /chain add or select it in /chain configure.

my payment link says the request is unavailable

The request may have already been paid, cancelled, or expired. Ask the requester to create a new one if needed.

the recipient has no wallet on that network

They can link an address with /wallet add. Each chain uses its own wallet address format.

how do i get help?

Ask a server manager for help with that server’s settings, contact Gliard on X at @gliardbot, or message @adam2 directly on Discord.
